McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program
The McKinney-Vento Program, established under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, is a federal initiative dedicated to supporting the educational needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. Since its inception, the program has been instrumental in ensuring that all students, regardless of their housing situation, have access to a stable and supportive educational environment.
The McKinney-Vento Program at Crete Public Schools is here to support students and families who are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. Our program ensures that students are immediately enrolled in school, have access to free school meals, and receive the supplies they need to succeed academically. We provide essential resources such as backpacks, school supplies, clothing, hygiene products, and emergency food. Additionally, we can connect you with community resources for housing, healthcare, and other critical services.
If you or your family are in need of support, or if you know someone who may benefit from our services, please reach out to us.
