Superintendent Dr. Josh McDowell
Dr. Josh McDowell joined Crete Public Schools as superintendent on July 1, 2019. Before coming to Crete, he served in numerous roles with Grand Island Public Schools, including teacher, building leader, director, Chief Academic Officer, and Chief Transformation Officer. Dr. McDowell holds a Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Leadership from Creighton University, a Master of Educational Leadership degree from Doane University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and middle-level education from Doane University.
Dr. McDowell is involved in various community organizations, including Rotary and CAIDC. He also serves on the National Career Academy Coalition Board of Directors. Josh and his wife Jess (also an educator) have two children, Aidan and Allison. In their free time, they enjoy all events CPS and supporting the community.
